The 1,2,3,4,5,5 Suite
Something inventive for your new recorder players, easy at the start (just one note!) but stretching the players as the work progresses.
Listen to a demonstration
This original suite of six pieces for easy recorder uses only the notes GABCD. Each piece can be used by itself or as a cohesive six-movement suite.
As a full class piece, it is great to use with beginners, as it starts by only using "G". Each piece then adds a new note until the last two pieces (or movements) are using all five notes from G-D. The pieces are great tools for introducing 3/4 time as well as basic counting and repeats.
It can also be used for a child or small group who need something more of a challenge.
The piano part is interesting but easy to play. Perhaps one ot two of the students could be challenged play this.
Included in the pack:
- MP3s with the recorder playing the melody (Which is a great help while learning the piece)
- MP3s of just the piano part (Ideal for performance track use, if a live piano is not available)
- The Full Score in PDF format
- Recorder Parts in PDF format
