A Glocky Dance
A Glocky Dance is based on “Mattachins” (sometimes known as “Sword Dance”) and is one of the dance tunes found in Thoinot Arbeau's Orchésographie. Most famously, Peter Warlock (1894-1930) used it for the finale of “Capriol” and it is his version that provided the inspiration for A Glocky Dance.

It is scored one-octave diatonic glockenspiels in three parts for those of differing skill levels.

  1. carries  the tunes and is designed to be repetitive, so once learned it can be used again.
  2. is an inner harmony/counter melody line and is designed for those players who can handle something more than the tune
  3. is for those students who can only handle a few, easy, slow changing notes.
