Teaching a class of 30 children is always a challenge. This Xlyo Karate series enables students to practice at home, progress at their own rate and be visually rewarded, with a "belt", for their work.

It is for a “Xylophone” or Glockenspiel that has at least one octave C to C, with no “black notes”.

The Pack contains:

  1. Five different versions of the same material. Use what works for your situation. Two are designed for students to use and fit on just three sheet of standard paper
    • Normal note notation: for those who can read music
    • Note names in the note head: This allows the student to see the note name in the note head. Current thinking is that this works better than writing the note name under the note.

Note... The above are easy and cheap to copy as each version fits on just three sheets of paper.

The other three versions are designed mainly for teachers.
  • Guitar/ukulele chords
  • Guitar/ukulele chords and simple, one-hand piano chords.
  • In a separate PDF, a coloured note, full page, landscape version designed with interactive white boards and smart boards in mind.

2.  Suggestions for teaching that I have found to work.
3.  A template for making a practice instrument for the children to take home and practice
4.  Backing tracks, with or without the Xylo part.
